Mesa Airlines took their one-aircraft company to a fleet of sixty aircraft in just ten short years. The decade of the 1980s was the first for this new airline, and they worked exceedingly hard to expand their business operations.

Mesa Air Group is the main company that has bunch of smaller airlines under its wing, including Mesa Airlines. The Mesa Group consists of almost three thousand aviation professionals, and they serve throughout the US. The total fleet assets numbers 87 airliners flying to destinations in the US including Hawaii. Each day there are 465 operations running from roughly 100 cities, which include two non-US locations: Canada and Mexico. When Mesa Airlines started they had just 1 aircraft, so to make over $1 billion each year in revenue is an amazing achievement.
The beginnings of Mesa Airlines was very humble, as to start off they just had one plane. After 10 years of business, Mesa Airlines had 38 planes operating between 63 cities in the United States. Additionally they started to do trading on the stock exchange as they had moved over from being a private corporation. A code sharing agreement was reached between Mesa and Midwest Express by the end of the 1980's. That partnership allowed Mesa to expand and serve passengers flying out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. United Airlines and Mesa went into partnership on code sharing, which saw the arrival of United Express chartering flights out of Denver.
Most people know of United Airlines, and Mesa struck a deal with this big airline in 2003. This agreement allowed Mesa to form operations from a number of airports, including O'Hare airport in Chicago, Washington-Dulles and Denver. And from this a new airline was born. It was called United Express Airlines. The only aircraft that United Express are running operations with are Bombardiers. The Dash 8 aircraft were officially removed from operations by the end of 2009.
Mesa Airlines emerged from Chapter 11 proceedings in March of 2011 in terrific financial condition. Since doing this, Mesa Airways have been able to continue making a profit. In addition, they have sought to bring key management personnel back into the company since they have valuable experience with Mesa.
